From the New-York Mercury, Sept. 29.  Last week, an
excellent Latin oration was pronounced by one of the
students of the College of New-Jersey . . . on the bravery
of our commanders, in the late action, on the banks of Lake-
George; the following English lines were introduced . . . 
  There curst Canada's motley savage herd,
  With Hecatomb's of faithless Frenchmen bled:
