London. Nov. 28. On Thursday se'night about five o'clock in
the morning, a most terrible fire broke out in St.
Werburgh's Church, Dublin, which in a few hours entirely
consumed that fine fabric, nothing being preserved from the
conflagration but the bells and clock in the steeple, which
was done with great difficulty and danger. . . [5 lines] The
records of the church were immediately removed, and two
engines being brought to play on the houses, prevented any
further damage. 'Tis said the fire was occasioned by the
servants leaving a candle burning in the church the night
before after the service.
