London, November 15. We hear from Oxfordshire that on
Saturday last Lord Parker and Sir Edward Turner gave a
splendid entertainment to the gentlemen and freeholders of
the new interest at Watlingon. There were present at this
meeting the greatest part of the landed interest of that
side of Oxfordshire. The meeting likewise was honoured with
the Company of the Duke of Marlborough, Earl of
Macclesfield, Earl Harcourt, and a considerable number of
gentlemen of property and distinction. Many loyal healths
were drank; which shewed the zealous attachment of that
interest to his Majesty King George and the present happy
establishment in church and state. And on Monday, Lord
Parker and Sir Edward Turner were met by their friends at
the end of the fair mile near Henly, from whence they went
in procession to that town. There went first a large band
of musick, after that came the flags, on one of which was
inscribed Parker and Turner, and other the reverie of it,
the right and privilege of voting restored, 1753. . . [13
