London, Nov. 22. On Saturday there was a great court at
Leicester-House to compliment her Royal Highness the
Princess of Wales on her birth-day; and a ball which was not
over till past twelve o'clock. His Royal Highness observing
some of his lords to wear French stuff, immediately ordered
the Duke of Chandos, his Gr[o n] of the [Stool], to
acquaint them, and all his servants in general, thereafter
that [ ];he should be greatly displeased to see them
appear in any sorts in general, manufactures of France.
The same notice was given to the ladies. [ ] fresh
instance of the sense his Royal Highness has of the true
interest of his country, and of the regard he has upon all
occasions shewn for it.
