Boston. Last Monday evening a odd affair happen'd in a
house at the north part of town: As some company were
diverting themselves over a bowl of punch, one of them
requested the woman of the house (being a good singer) to
give them a pleasant song; she at first refus'd but after
further persuasions, comply'd, and sang in the presence of
her husband, to who the song was very disagreeable, and more
so as it was set off with such glances of the eye as tended
to increase jealousy; he therefore call'd upon her to break
off, but she persisting, the provoked husband in his passion
threw the punchbowl at his wife and brake it to pieces; not
content with that, he proceeded and broke the looking glass,
tea cups, saucers, glasses, chairs, and sundry other
valuable household goods; whereupon the company left the
house.
