Berlin, Nov. 23. The ceremony of the Princess Royal's
marriage with the Prince of Bareith, was perform'd about six
in the evening of the 20th, in the great hall called the
Hall of Poland; where M. Noltenus, minister to the court,
gave them the nuptial benediction, and afterwards made a
fine oration upon the reunion of the houses of Anspach and
Bareith with the royal family, from which they had been so
many years separated. While the ceremony was performing,
100 cannon were fired; after which there was a ball that
lasted till nine o'clock, and then they went to supper. At
the King's table, of 30 covers, sat none but the Princes &
Princesses, who, excepting their majesties, the Princess
Royal, and the Margraves of Bareith, Father and son cast
lots for their places, to prevent disputes. There were,
besides this table 11 others, of twenty four covers each.
The next morning, the Princess royal found upon her toilet a
pair of buckles and a cross valued at 50,000 crowns, as a
present from the Margrave of Bareith. Last night there was
a ball, when about an hour before supper, the Prince Royal,
for whom the King had sent from Kustrin, without
acquainting any one with it, came through the crowd, without
being known, and sat himself down at the table where the
Queen was at play: She look'd at him, but did not know him
till he threw himself at her feet, when her Majesty embrac'd
him with great tenderness. He was immediately surrounded by
all the Princes and Princesses, every one striving to
embrace him first.
