Port-Mahon in the Isle of Minorca, June 17. 1726.
The Birth-day of the King of Great Britain, our Sovereign,
was celebrated her on the 8th instant with  very great
magnificence and extraordinary demonstrations of joy. . . [6
lines]  After this Lord Carpenter also gave a magnificent
dinner to the Lord Vere, and the officers of his ship, to
all the military officers here and their wives, and to many
other persons of distinction, and in the evening his
Excellency gave a great ball at St. Philip's Castle, which
held till next morning. . . [3 lines]
