Paris, Aug.29. On Thursday night last, being the eve of St.
Louis's day, there was a fine fire-work in the garden of the
Tuilleries, and a great consort of musick to divert the
King: the musicians were above a 100 in number, and were
placed in a large gallery built on purpose. The concourse
of people was so great, that when they broke up, there was
no less than seven persons stifled to death among the croud,
of whom Madam the Marchioness of Joyeuse was one,
notwithstanding all her servants could do to preserve her.
