Oxford, May 30. Last Tuesday being his Majesty's birth-day,
all the bells in the university & city began ringing very
early in the morning, and so continued all the day. In the
evening, Mr. Mayor, the aldermen, assistants, and bailiffs,
met at the piazza at Carfax in their scarlet gowns, to drink
his Majesty's health, being attended by all the head
constables, and the city musick playing to them all the
time. . . [3 lines]
