Edinburgh, May 28.  This his Majesty's birth day was
celebrated. . . [theater, ie. stage, erected at High cross,
where healths drunk; 11 lines]  After which, Clayton's
regiment marched down to the Abbey, where was a great
bonefire, and General Carpenter gave a ball and a supper, at
which were all the noblemen and ladies, with the chief
officers of all the troops. The evening ended with bonfires,
illuminations, and other demonstrations of joy.
