By Capt. Furse we have the following account, that three
posts running before he came away there was an account of
the Confederate army in Flanders, under the command of his
Grace the Duke of Marlborough having obtain'd a great and
very signal and glorious victory over the French army, . . .
[7 lines] This battle was fought near to Ghent the 12th of
July, N.S. . . . [14 lines] Upon the arrival of this great
news, there was great rejoycings, ringing of bells,
illuminations, and firing of guns all over the Kingdom of
Great Britain; and a day of solemn thanksgiving was
appointed to be kept for the said victory.
