Petersburgh, Aug. 31. The court has published this day a
detail of the glorious victory gained by Count Romanzow on
the first of this month over the Grand Vizwer. This
relation is very full, containing 19 pages in quarto--It
appears that the Turks in the battle lost 40,000 men,
without reckoning 2000 prisoners, of whom the greatest
number are officers of rank. Our loss on this occasion only
amounts to 353 killed, and 550 wounded, as well as officers
as private men. The booty taken on the field of battle, and
at Ismail, consists of 53 pair of colours, two horse-tails,
two standards, four pair of kettledrums, 203 pieces of heavy
cannon, and an innumerable quantity of baggage, tents, carts
of ammunition, provisions, &c. &c. . . [2 more paras]
