New-York, April 9. . . On Monday last 45 and 92 ladies
(making 137) met at the house of Mr. Arthur M'Neil, at the
head of Chapel Street, from whence they went in regular
procession to the New Goal, to visit Mr. McDougall. Two
chambers were prepared for their reception, where they were
entertained with tea and cakes; and after that they sung a
number of patriotic songs, then took their leave of him.
From the gaol they went in regular procession through Chapel
Street, admidst a vast number of spectators, to wait on Mrs.
McDougall home, who was with the company; the most of whom
were pleased that so many of the Daughters of Liberty
patronized the glorious cause, which daily gains friends of
both sexes.
