We hear from Barnstable, that on Saturday the 17th of May
last, they received the glorious news of the repeal of the
Stamp Act, by an express from Boston to the Superiour Court
then siting there; On Monday following they expressed their
joy by the ringing of bells, firing of cannon; a large
bonfire in the evening, the Town-House, and all the houses
in the center of the town were very handsomely illuminated;.
