Yesterday noon, the Sons of Liberty here, received (by
express) from their brethren at Newport the following most
glorious article of intelligence, which is not in the least
doubted as to its veracity, viz.
Newport, April 12, 1766.
Gentlemen,
A vessel which arrived here this morning from Philadelphia
brings us the glorious news of the repeal of the Stamp-Act;-
- the account is as follows, viz. . .

  The captain of the above vessel, who is a person of
undoubted veracity, informs us that the intelligence arrived
at Philadelphia last Monday morning an hour before he
sailed; that the bells were then ringing, and that the
gentlemen of the city gave entire credit to the news---
