Last Sunday the parish clerk of a church south of London Bridge, having given out a psalm which the minister did not approve of, was called to from the pulpit to sing Gloria Patri, which he not instantly complying with, was pulled out of his desk by the minister, who kick'd him very heartily in the sight of the whole congregation, who were greatly scandalized and surprized, at such an exertion of ecclesiastical authority. |
