From the Craftsman, Sept.24, 1763. . . London. . . This day
being the anniversary of proclaiming the peace with France
and Spain in the year 1763, the morning was ushered in with
ringing of bells; at noon the guns of the Park and the Tower
will be fired, his Majesty will receive the compliments of
the nobility and foreign ministers on the occasion, and the
evening will conclude with bonfires, illuminations, and
other demonstrations of joy; and his excellency the Duke de
Biron, Embassador from the court of France, will give a ball
at his house in Bedford Square.
