Last Friday evening the province ship King George, Capt.
Hallowell, arrived here from Newfoundland, with the
agreeable news of the retaking of St. John's, by Col.
Amherst, on the 18th of September last. . .
 [col.2.:] 18th when an officer with two drums came out of
the fort beating the chamade, and about noon the garrison
surrendered themselves prisoners of war:--
