Francfort, (an imperial city of Germany) July 6. The latest
accounts from Bohemia give us reason to fear, the success of
the Austrians against the King of Prussia falls far short of
what the former letters give us to expect. It is certain the
Prussians are most advantageously posted, and are watchful
of a favourable opportunity of attacking their enemy. We
were here promised last week that Te Deum would be sung in
the churches on Sunday, on account of the victory of the
18th ult. but our magistracy have cautionsly ommitted it,
having already given too much offence to the King of
Prussia. There is little appearance that the execution
army, as it has been called, will make any figure this year;
more than one third of the troops of the Upper Rhine have
already deserted, and the rest seem well-disposed to follow
their example; of which we had yesterday an instance, in the
arrival of a vessel full of muskets, tents, and other
baggage, which the deserters left behind him.
