On Tuesday night the Duke of Hamilton gave a very splendid ball, at his grace's lodging in Holy-Rood-House, to a grand company of nobility and gentry; after which there was a most elegant and sumptuous entertainment, consisting of 452 dishes. The table was 110 feet long and the whole was conducted with the greatest decorum and elegance. |
