By private letters from Maestricht it appears, that a great number of prisoners were brought in there at the beginning of the late action, besides colours and kettle-drums; that the number of the French engages were 46000, and that of the allies not above 20000--The former had besides the advantage of the ground, & could be reinforced, which the allies could not. |
