At Covent-Garden Theatre one John Semerford tumbled from the upper gallery into the pit, being 10 yards, without receiving any hurt. When the play was done, he told Mr. Rich, that he had made himself free of the gallery, and hop'd he should have the liberty of going into it when he pleas'd; to which Mr. Rich consented, with a provided always that he did not come out of it in the same abrupt manner. |
