Philadelphia, Nov. 2. Monday last being his Majesty's
birth-day, the principal gentlemen of the city were
entertain'd at dinner by the proprietor, at his house, where
all the loyal healths were drank, under the discharge of
cannon from the ships in the harbour, &c. And in the
afternoon the governor gave a grand entertainment to near
150 gentlemen and ladies, at the State-House, which
concluded with a ball. The day ended with illuminations,
bonfires, and other usual demonstrations of joy.
