Paris, Sept. 6. N.S. Some days past a notable piece of
horsemanship was perform'd; such as never was seen at the
riding academies here. The Sieur Capi brother to one of the
opera girls, being upon a mettlesome horse he took the bit
between his teeth, ran furiously to the Royal Bridge, jump'd
over the parapet into the river, a descent equal to the
heighth of a good large house. When the horse was in the
water, the young man had address enough to quit his stirrups
took to swimming, leading the horse out at the same time by
the bridle; and neither of them got any harm; but this is a
trick not to be shewn every day.
