Stockholm, August 22. Yesterday being the day when the form
of government, sworn to by the King, of the 29th of May, and
by the States the 1st of June, was to be abolished, and a
new one to be produced in a plenum plenorum of all the
orders. . . After all this ceremony was over, the King stood
up and said that it was proper to thank Almighty God for his
assistance, in bringing about so happy an event, and pulling
a psalm book out of his pocket, he began to sing the Te Deum
in which he was accompanied by the Assembly.
