London, May 13, 1771.  The following is the plan now adopted
for recruiting the military forces of the East-India
Company: The Company are to pay 60,000L. to government to
build barracks for 2500 men in the islands of Guernsey and
Jersey, where a regiment of recruits is to be formed for the
India service. . . The regiment is to be formed in the
following manner: one colonel, one lieutenant colonel. . .
30 drums and fifes. . .
