divines are agreed in sentiment, relative to the morality of
the christian sabbath, and this town from its beginning, has
been remarkable for a strict observation of the Lord's day.
On the first arrival of the troops, the sober inhabitants
were greatly grieved, that the military parade and music
could not be dispensed with, or at least lessened on those
