London, March 20. We hear the last letters from Berlin
bring the following particulars of the discovery of the
amour so much talked of: A R--l P--- is at that place, being
over fond of an Italian musician, made him a present of a
very valuable family diamond ring; which in a few days after
he offer'd to sale to a jeweller in that city, who knew the
ring, and asked him how he came by it; the Italian answered,
where I had it I can have more; upon which the jeweller
stopped the ring, and made it known to a great potentate,
who ordered him at his peril not to divulge the affair to
any body, till he heard from him. In the mean while orders
were given for them to be privately watched; and the Italian
being found in bed with her, he was taken out of the bed-
chamber into the next room, and had his head severed from
his body.
