The resignation of Mr Messervey, with the intelligence
extraordinary brought by Capt. Daverson, more especially the
change of the ministry, created universal joy in the breasts
of the people; and in the evening many loyal healths were
drank by numbers of gentlemen. . . for the morning following
was ushered in the ringing of all the bells in town, and joy
