Philadelphia, Sept. 25. Last Wednesday and Thursday
evenings, we had bonfires and illuminations, and many
curious fireworks play'd off, on account of General
Johnson's victory over the French near Lake George.
And on Monday evening, the gentlemen of the army, daily
expecting orders to march, made a grand entertainment, and a
ball for the ladies and gentlemen of the city, at the State-
House, where every thing was conducted with the greatest
decorum and elegance.
