Lisbon, in Portugal, Jan. 14.  The 31st of last month, their
Majesties went to the church of the Jesuits college, and
assisted at a solemn Te Deum sung there for all the
blessings which God was pleased to pour down on this Kingdom
during the year 1752; in which there is much more sense and
piety than in the custom that prevails in time of war among
all Christian nations, of singing Te Deum for the slaughter
of some thousands of their enemies, with equal loss on their
own side.
