Extract of a letter from Norwich, June 29. On Monday last
Mr. Wheatly the Methodist preacher left this city, to the
great joy of all well-wishers of peace; the generality of
the citizens expressed their satisfaction at his leaving the
city by firing of guns, ringing of bells, and other
demonstrations of joy suitable to so happy an occasion: the
various quarrels this fellow has, by his new started up
doctrine and consummate ignorance been accessory to, in
private families as well as clubs and publick assemblies,
will, we hope, be happily appeased, if this noted disturber
of the peace never return again.
