London, October 22. . . We hear that the entertainment
which was intended to be given on the 12th instant by the
French Ambassador at the opera house, in honour of the birth
of the Duke of Burgundy, and which was postponed on account
of the death of the Prince of Orange, is still put off, nor
is it certain when the day will be fixed, as the wines,
sweetmeats and the principal part of the provisions are to
be furnished from France,--a mere English entertainment, not
being esteemed superb enough to celebrate so great and
happy an event.
