Perth, May 2. The very agreeable news being confirmed, that
his Serene Highness the Prince of Orange is proclaimed
Stadtholder of all the Seven United Provinces, and that his
Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland is now in readiness
with the army under his command, to strike a home blow to
the pride of the disturbers of Europe; our great bells were
rung at every hour, from mid-day till ten at night: And in
the evening the magistrates entertained in a tavern the
officers of the Scots Royals, and of the artillery, where
many loyal healths were drunk; and the day was concluded
with illuminations, and other demonstrations of joy.
