[Boston] Two fine sloops, each 120 tons, both prime
sailors, mounted with 14 carriage and 16 swivel guns, the
one commanded by Capt William Curtis, of Boston, the other
by Capt. James Allen of Newport, navigated with 120 men
each, being well fitted with all warlike stores, and go in
consort together; will sail in three weeks at farthest from
Newport, where they belong, on a cruising voyage against the
Spaniards. All gentlemen sailors and others that have a
mind to inlist themselves and endeavour to advance their
fortune, may apply to said Curtis, at his house in the
westerly part of Boston, who will give them greater
encouragement than any other person since this war has been
commenced. Any gentleman that has a Negro man that can
sound a trumpet well, and inclines to send him with said
Curtis, may have good encouragement from him.
