[Paris] Sept. 4. They write from Paris, that the ball
which that city gave the 30th past, on account of the
departure of the Infanta for Spain, was one of the most
brilliant that was ever seen before. A great hall was built
in the court of the Town-House, which form'd a magnificent
prospect by the exquisite tastes of the decorations and the
art with which it was illuminated. Three large rooms were
built close to the hall, in which all sorts of refreshments
were serv'd. It is reckon'd that 1800 bottles of champaign,
4000 bottles of burgundy, 15,000 peaches, above 30 hogsheads
of lemonade and orgeat, with a vast quantity of hams,
partridges, were consum'd at the ball.
