Thursday last the funeral solemnities for the death of her
late Majesty Queen Caroline were observed, according to the
order of the governour and council of the 9th instant. . .
[last 3 lines of 12 + 21] The bells of all the churches in
town were rolled from eight o'clock in the forenoon to
eleven and from one in the afternoon to six in the evening,
and half minute guns were fired at his Majesty's Castle
William, the old batteries in town, and the ships in the
harbour, during the whole afternoon. These outward marks of
grief were accompanied with the general and sincere sorrow
of the people for the loss of our excellent and incomparable
Queen.
