London. . . A person in high life, (remarkable for his
brutality to his amiable wife) a few days since locked up
her jewels to prevent her going to an Assembly, because his
mistress wanted a ticket, which could not be granted, and
had threatened to leave him if his lady went and she should
not.  No wonder there are so many instances of female
infidelity, if men behave in such a manner.
