Last week Mr. Benjamin Warburton, of James City county
[Virginia], attempting to seize a Negro fellow in the
kitchen, whom he suspected to be a runaway, was stabed by
him in the side, but not mortally . . . [5 lines] This
fellow was a hymn singer, and had a book of them in his
pocket.
