London. . . May 9. . . On Saturday a great body of sailors
met in St. Georges's Fields in the east, and went to St.
James's, with colours flying, drums beating, and fifes
playing, and presented a petition to his Majesty, setting
forth the hardships they at present labour under on account
of the smallness of their wages, &c. and praying relief.
They divided themselves into two parties, one went over
London bridge, the other marched through the city.
