London. . . Aug. 8. Last Tuesday night the merchants
trading to New-England, and the other North American
colonies, met at the New-England and Cape Breton Coffee-
house, behind the Royal-Exchange, to celebrate General
Pepperell and Commodore Warren's glorious success in the
reduction of Cape-Breton where the healths of his Majesty. .
. [4 lines, and others] were drank; several barrels of beer
were given to the populace, and the whole was conducted with
the greatest decorum: Martial musick was perform'd, a large
bonfire was made, and several fireworks were display'd on
this great event.
