The Layman's Sincere and Humble Address to all Christian,
particularly in and round the Massachusetts Bay, in New-
England. . . [essay on controversy stirred up by
Whitefield's preaching.]  The most of his sermons are an
harangue to move the passions, and too much like those of a
theater or in Romish churches.  This I know, that the spirit
of God does work on the reason of the rational creature . .
