The Spanish armament appears rather to be compleated, than
suspended; and an embargo is still laid on all foreign
ships. . . What the design or tendency of all this is we
cannot learn; some saying that the 20, 000 men who are
shortly to be shipped off from Barcelona, Alicant, &c. are
to be landed in Naples and Tuscany; but others assure us,
that they are designed for some other expedition:  which is
most probably; for, notwithstanding the Duke de Montemar has
hired a set of musicians at Pisa for the service of the
opera during the carnival, 'tis written from Milan as a
thing certain, that the territories of the Grand Duke are
absolutely to be evacuated, . . .
