New-York, Nov. 3. Thursday last being the anniversary of
his Majesty's birth-day, it was observed with great
solemnity here . . . [8 lines, healths, review called off
because of bad weather.] The evening was concluded with all
demonstrations of loyalty and joy. There was a ball and
entertainment at the fort, at which the appearance of
gentlemen & ladies was very splendid, there being a great
many of them in new cloaths, very rich, in honour of the
day.
