Hague, May 20, N.S. Now for the new light concerning the
design of the Spanish fleet, which our forward news writers
sent to sea the 24th of Apr last, six weeks or two months
before it was ready . It was not in favour of the
malecontents of the island of Corsica, that all this grand
armament has been making; neither was it design'd to
chastise the Moors or Barbarians; they are already so
despicable, that it would be more cost than worship: But it
[ ] in favour, and at the instigation of King Amadeus, who
repenting his abdication and seeing no hopes of recovering
the throne, has made use of France to prevail with Spain to
recover the Kingdom of Sardinia for him, that his consort
may be crowned there, who has an insatiable itch to be
honoured with the title of Majesty. It is certain, on the
other hand according to some letters from Italy, that the
ancient monarch is to begin the dance, by retiring to
France to the most Christian King his grandson, who is in
concert with Spain for the recovery of that Kingdom in
favour of his grandfather by the mother's side.
