Petersburg, September 20. Two days ago, about six in the
evening, the Emperor return'd hither from Petershoff but his
imperial Majesty instead of going to the Palace of Prince
Menzikoff, where he lodg'd since the death of the Empress,
went to the Imperial Summer Palace, and immediately sent
orders to that Prince not to go out of his palace:
Yesterday morning some officers, having repair'd thither by
order from the Emperor, broke his sword, and divested him of
the Order of St. Andrew, and immediately carried him away,
some say to Siberia. At the same time the following
placard, sign'd by his Imperial Majesty, was publish'd by
beat of drum in all our streets.
