Charlestown (S. Carolina) June 20 . . . On the morning of
the 9th of March, a Spanish fleet . . . appeared off the bar
of Pensacola, on board of which was Gen. Galvez with about
2500 men . . . on the 28th they landed their whole force,
and from thence on the 30th moved to Neil's Meadows, about a
mile and a half from Fort George; here they were attacked by
the Indians, who were supported by light troops and two
field pieces under the command of Capt. Johnstone . . . the
Indians brought 4 drums off the field and a number of
muskets.
