Journey with pianos…

Jacqueline Schwab is known to many of us as a dance pianist, as a member of Bare Necessities, or from the soundtracks of numerous Ken Burns documentaries, or the music of “Mark Twain’s America.” But she loves to explore many kinds of traditional music from everywhere: America, the British Isles, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe. Lately, she's been exploring the music of Latin America. Sometimes she finds lyrical and meditative musings, sometimes intimate intricacies. She surveys the music of many places and times, and finds biographic relationships in all of it.

Hoyle Osborne spent many years as ragtime pianist at the Diamond Belle Saloon in the historic Strater Hotel in Durango, Colorado. Over a wide-ranging career, he's worked in theater and film, on Mississippi River steamboats, and with a variety of folk, jazz, and classical musicians. Hoyle has a special interest in Pan American rhythms and music, most notably featured on his CD Panazon. He and his life partner, singer and songwriter Jane Voss, have sung for FSGW many times over the years. Jane will be joining Hoyle for a couple of numbers in this concert.

Eavesdrop as Jacqueline and Hoyle discover each other's music, and take the piano to places you never thought it could explore.
