Ways To Give

  • Annual Fund -- One of the most effective way to further the work of CDSS is by making an unrestricted gift to the annual fund appeal. Such gifts sustain our operating budget and our overall mission.
  • Donor Level Membership -- Maintaining a membership beyond the basic level is a simple way to increase your annual giving.
  • Leadership Funds -- CDSS is particularly dedicated to providing resources for leaders of all ages and to youth development. Gifts to Leadership Funds directly support these initiatives
  • Special Funds -- CDSS has a number of funds from which we award scholarships, grants and loans, fund publication and other special projects, and support our library and archives.
  • Workplace Giving -- Many companies will match part or all of your membership gift or other donation.  Applying for employee matching funds can double your gift to CDSS.
  • Stocks and Securities -- A gift of marketable securities is tax deductible and may offset capital gains.
  • Planned Giving -- Planned giving is a way to offer current and future support to CDSS through estate planning.
  • Summer Auctions -- Many folks offer material items and/or services for the auctions we hold each week at our summer programs; others give by making the winning bid (and return home with something beautiful, delicious or strange). Donations to summer auctions help to fund scholarships and other important programs.
  • Material Gifts -- Material gifts and gifts in kind provide CDSS with important resources and may help you find both a home for something you no longer need and a tax deduction. We have received gifts of technology, office supplies, sales stock and valuable additions to our library collections. The most helpful materials are those for which we have a current need, but if you have something you would like to donate that you do not see on our list, please contact us.
  • Volunteering -- Do you have time or talents you can share with us?  Volunteers can be enormously helpful not only to our everyday operations, but to the long term health of our dance and music community. These gifts are more difficult to quantify but no less important to us. Can you (or your local group) host a meeting? Help us spread the word about our programs? Transport our equipment to and/or from camp? Research or write grants? Volunteer in our office? Take photographs of CDSS events? Visit our CDSS wish list to see our current priorities.
